![]() Since moving to Detroit, I have also begun working with children and teens through the Detroit Children's Choir and the Royal Oak Children's Choir. Teaching Detroit singing lessons has given me the opportunity to help many talented students reach their goals through TakeLessons. We just need to learn how to harness that power and read the page of notes and make it into something beautiful. Singing is as natural as breathing - in fact, most of it IS breathing! The breath gives power to the voice. We can all learn to make music, read music, and develop innate gifts to their best potential with simple and basic understanding. My goals for each student are individual, comprehensive, wrapped in hope and rooted in encouragement. I believe that all human beings are capable of producing and understanding music and therefore MUST be given the opportunity to do so. My philosophy can be wrapped up in my desire to help everyone discover their own musicianship. To me, there is no greater joy than watching another blossom from learning. I have taught singing and keyboard instruments my entire adult life. We truly share a need and passion to make music and Detroit is famous for that underlying passion. She is currently studying to become a Certified McClosky Voice Technician through the McClosky Institute of Voice and hopes to complete the certification during the summer of 2021.I am a teacher - I suppose I have always been a teacher! I love to help people unwrap the gift of music that we all share, to learn to find their voice to express and enjoy music and its language. Her goal with each of her students is to teach them healthy technique while also having fun! She loves exploring basic composing and arranging, and enjoys teaching all ages. She teaches in the Langford area and offers online lessons so she is able to connect with students from all over the world. She now lives on Vancouver Island with her husband and enjoys exploring the wonderful hikes and viewpoints the island has to offer. After university she also completed the ARCT program in Piano Performance through the Royal Conservatory of Music. She studied piano from a young age but realized it was voice she wanted to pursue at university and now holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Bob Jones University in SC, USA.
